I had so much fun yesterday teaching Embodied Groove live over at the Deadheadland page. It is definitely not the same without live musicians but I do have Elliot dancing with me so that is a bonus. Plus, by me committing to teaching I make sure I am moving my body. Unless I do that or make it a priority sometimes it doesn’t happen. I need it now more than ever. To move the anxiety, the fear of the unknown, the grief. To reconnect to my flow and feelings of hope, connection, and ultimately love.

Yesterday’s theme was gold, in part inspired by these golden bells from Warrior Within Designs and also by the story of the Golden Buddha.

Essentially, it is to remind us of the golden light within all of us that gets covered by the muck in life and the armor piled on over the years to protect ourselves. Through practices like Embodied Groove that include movement, mindfulness, and breath, with a strong dose of compassion we can begin to shed these layers, have the courage to accept our own muck and shine our lights. This doesn’t mean that we have to be happy all the time. Just real and hopefully compassionate, which I have found is the best way to soften the armor and reveal the golden Buddha inside all of us. ??

I’ll be doing these again every Sunday at 12:30pm PT and every other Thursday at 6:30pm PT if you ever want to join. You can literally dance like no one is watching in the comfort of your own home. ?

Elliot chose the theme of red for tomorrow’s (4/5/20) Embodied Groove Dance Party. We will be celebrating love in all its ways. So grab your red flair and join us live at 12:30pm PT on Facebook.com/deadheadland/live to move your body and express yourself! If you miss it live, you can catch the recorded stream posted here for later.
